Project Information
DEDICATED PUBLIC TRANSPORT LANE ALONG HIGHWAY 4
Under the project the section of Highway 4 between Morasha and Ra`anana Intersections was widened - approx. 2.5 km. northbound and 1.3 km. southbound.
Tasks included works on the Highway 4 access ramps to the north and the south, paving operations, refurbishing an existing roadway structure, concrete works, laying of drainage ditches, erection of retaining walls and foundation piles, extension of an existing culvert, dismantling and demolition of steel parapets, existing culverts and kerbstones, excavation and backfilling of earthworks, installation of electrical, lighting and communications infrastructure systems, drainage works, landscaping, billboard and road sign placement and setting up temporary and final traffic layouts.
The work teams in the field dealt with complex challenges arising, among other things, from the fact that the roadway refurbishment and widening operations were carried out along narrow work strips about the width of a lorry and in traffic lanes remaining in operation throughout the implementation period .
