Project Information

BUILDING THE SOUTHERN AIR GATEWAY TO THE STATE OF ISRAEL

Ramon Airport is located at a distance of about 22 km. to the north of the town of Eilat. It serves internal and international tourism to the town and its surroundings, providing an alternative to Ben Gurion Airport. The works at the airport included the laying of takeoff and landing runways to a length of about 3.6 km. and parking aprons for all types of aircraft.

The paving works were initially centred on the runways, taxiways and parking aprons; this was followed by the paving of the main roadways, erection of the boundary fence and laying of the patrol path. Within the complex advanced environmental development operations were undertaken. The work crews in the field dealt with extreme temperature conditions making it essential to adhere to work procedures and adopt other engineering and logistical solutions.
