Project Description

Residential Tower and Two Kindergartens in a Congested Neighbourhood

In the High Line complex spread over a 2.5 dunam area, a residential tower rising to a height of 106 m. with 31 floors and 163 housing units is under construction. The tower is being erected over a ground floor and a gallery floor and contains two kindergartens, a gymnasium, a tenant room and service rooms for the benefit of the residents. In addition, the complex includes a 4 level underground car park.

The complex’s location in the middle of a very congested neighbourhood necessitated complex manoeuvring and logistical capabilities in the building site area. The restricted and narrow access roads ruled out a proper staging area, hence dictating the incorporation of a system of climbing moulds for the building core.

This system has a number of advantages: They require no staging area, save considerable crane time, cut the construction time for each storey by four days, and even shorten the critical progress paths on the site as thanks to them the lift shafts are ready before the building frame is finished. Another construction characteristic of the project is industrialisation of the plumbing systems in wet rooms, a unique process followed for the first time in a residential structure in Israel.
