Ashtrom Construction, through its subsidiary Drachim (Roads), is currently laying the fast lanes along Ayalon Highways close to Glilot Interchange. Under the project two bridges are being erected approx. 700 metres long and at a height of over 20 metres, regarded as a unique engineering and logistical challenge on account of their close proximity to main traffic arteries, operational railway alignments and an infrastructure-rich area.

Project Description
ERECTION OF TWO ROAD BRIDGES TO SERVE AS FAST LANES
At Glilot Junction, one of the central and busiest traffic intersections in the country, Ashtrom is erecting two bridges, one of which is to be 642 metres long and the other 738 metres - destined to become the longest road bridge in the country.
Erection of the two road bridges is part of the Ayalon Highways widening project, the bridges being designed to connect the congested lanes of Highway 20 to Highway 5 in both directions. On completion of the bridge construction Glilot East will become a three-level interchange substantially easing traffic in the area.
The project was executed by balanced casting using the Form Traveller Method, under which the bridge is built of uprights in a configuration that is balanced about the centre of the spans, until all sections of the bridge are joined forming a complete and uniform structure.
